Building a Legacy of Impact
At the Alliance of Canadians Combatting Antisemitism (ALCCA), we are committed to raising awareness about the nature and prevalence of antisemitism. We do so through advocacy, education and training, public engagements, and respectful dialogue.
The Alliance is designed to build collaborative responses to antisemitism, through 49 community organizations and the work of our Chair and leadership team. Our collaborative approach is also designed to build partnerships with diverse organizations and individuals, including Indigenous leadership, Muslim, Catholic, Iranian, Hindu and other interfaith allies. We also work with non-member Jewish organizations to promote heightened effectiveness. We draw on our experts on criminal law, human rights, immigration law, national security, and education in developing strategies.
The work involves education and training of law enforcement officials, testimony and deputations for Parliamentary committees, and federal, provincial and municipal government officials and agencies. Our member groups include both students and on-campus NGOs to support those students at risk, whether in public schools or on university or college campuses. We provide community education and workshops on hate crime reporting and other topics relevant to our mandate. We are also leading a Respectful Dialogue initiative, national in scope, to foster civil discourse on difficult issues as a result of those who would divide or demonize community members.
ALCCA’s weekly newsletter, blogs, and strategic campaigns amplify critical issues, provide detailed analysis, and we are proud to be a trusted resource on antisemitism and hate crime in Canada.
How We Operate
Our work is made possible through:
Generous Community Support: Our work is supported by generous donors who believe in our mission and our unique activities and the impact they are having. We have never solicited donations through our website, blogs, or a “donate” button.
Lean Operations: Our Chair and Board dedicate countless unpaid hours to combatting antisemitism, with this voluntary work now being done by our Chair full-time. We also operate with a small but dedicated paid staff. Our 49 member organizations are equally dedicated in time and energy to the combatting of antisemitism and hatred
Our Funding
ALCCA is funded by private donors with monies raised allocated to the activities of the Alliance ‘Head Office’. Each member organization also engages in its own fundraising while ALCCA amplifies their work and messaging. ALCCA is a registered not for profit organization which does not issue tax receipts. It was established in May 2024.
ALCCA is currently fundraising for 2025 with the goal of enlisting new major donors to support its work.
